Welcome to the new and improved C.W.A. 7804 web site.
I would like to extend a very big thank you to Merrine for getting our web site up, working, and current.
This is my first (long overdue) presidents corner since I have taken office, and there is so many things to address.
I know I wont be able to speak to all the issues that might be on your minds so feel free to comment on the web site or contact me directly, my personal cell number is posted on the union boards in Trafton A & B. It is also posted on the Officers page of this website.
It seems the biggest question today is about the merger of Qwest & Century Link and how it will affect us.
From all the research that I have done, and the C.W.A. presidents that represent Century Link employees that I have talked with, I am very optimistic with how it will all play out. But (and there always seems to be a but) there are some unanswered questions from Century that are a little unsettling, such as contracting of work, moving union call center work to non union call centers, and bridging of time from Qwest to Century Link. As of today Century Link will not address these concerns with C.W.A.
What I want you all to know is that the Washington State Counsel (all the C.W.A. presidents of Washington state) are now putting pressure on our state politicians to force Century Link to address these concerns with C.W.A.
