Specifically US WEST employees; It has become increasingly suspicious as to the motivations of our employer lately. Actually since the work stoppage in August, things have seemed to decline progressively.
Currently in our RCA, management has decided the LRAC is to be in control of the entire destiny of each and every technician in the field doing I&M and Maintenance work. This can be seen by the way the load and dispatch system is being utilized. This is also evidenced by the repressive and controlling environment the LRAC management team wishes to have over each technician with its new 1-800 plan for reporting out sick or requesting priority time off, vacation entitlement, or even time to attend union grievance meetings, or time off for union activities. According to them (management) the vacation scheduling process and vacations by crew were agreed to by the union. That is a total misrepresentation of the facts. The company is forcing us to use the grievance procedure at every turn. They stall, put off, refuse to negotiate on local issues, local agreements, and refuse to put pen to paper on anything with the local. We are running on verbal agreements to date.
It is time for each and every member to express to this management team, enough is enough. We want them to deal with us as obligated by the intent and scope of the contract
